I relabel the layer “ReStyle.” I always label my layers with something that indicates what I did with it, so I know if I need to go back to a particular layer and change it or just want to remember what I did. Photoshop After bringing the adjusted image into Photoshop I duplicate the Background layer (Cmd-J/Cntl-J). These everyday tasks can also be done in Photoshop and/or with plugins such as Topaz’s Clarity and Detail.Ģ. Typically they require some increase in contrast and/or clarity, a bit of saturation, and of course, capture sharpening. For those not accustomed to working with RAW files, the images come out of the camera looking somewhat flat and require some adjustments to make them look more like the original scene. I start in Lightroom and adjust the RAW file to bring it back to a natural state as you see in the first image above. Sharpen AI - sharpens images but more importantly, it can actually help fix images that are slightly out of focus due to motion blur or focus. This plugin has been improving but I think Photoshop does a much better job. Mask AI - this plugin allows you to select subjects and create masks so you can make local adjustments or create composites. I usually use it to convert phone images to raw files. The raw files are not as good as a real raw file but it’s close so this plugin is useful in certain situations. JPEG to Raw AI - converts jpeg images to raw files. Gigapixel AI - this plugin is great for enlarging small files and it does an excellent job. ![]() This is an excellent plugin.ĭeNoise AI - as the name suggests this plugin removes noise and can sharpen images and it does a fantastic job. Studio 2 - has many image editing filters so it could be used instead of Lightroom but it also has a huge number of creative filters. It works well but doesn’t compete well with other programs on the market. To get started let’s take a look at the plugins:Īdjust AI - This plugin is a raw editor like Lightroom.
